About Handy Cross

Handy Cross is a popular area situated about 2 miles south of High Wycombe in Buckinghamshire. It was named after a famous coaching inn which once stood in the area.

The area now hosts a large retail park, Handy Cross Hub, which has a wide range of shopping, dining and leisure facilities including a supermarket, gym, cinema, bowling alley and numerous restaurants.

There are several well-regarded schools in the area. Notably, Wycombe High School is located here, which is one of the highest-performing state schools in the country. The school has an excellent reputation, and receives consistent “outstanding” ratings from Ofsted.

In terms of outdoor spaces, Handy Cross has several parks in the surrounding area, including Hughenden Park and West Wycombe Park. Both of these parks are situated in magnificent landscaped gardens, and offer a range of outdoor activities as well as hosting organised events throughout the year.
