Situated in the southwest of the county town of the Aylesbury Vale district in Buckinghamshire, England.
Stone is a civil parish with a population of just over 2,500. It is notable for its 12th-century church, St. John’s the Baptist, designated as a grade II listed building by Historic England. The church is built of flint and limestone with a lead roof. It has a nave, chancel, north aisle, south aisle, and very old gravestones in the churchyard.
Stone is situated close to the River Thame and has one school, the Stone Church of England Combined School, where children aged 4-11 years old are educated. The school is located on the Oxford Road in Stone.
There is also a convenience store in the village and a number of accommodations, restaurants, and a wedding shoe company.
The Stone Recreation Ground is located on Bishopstone Road. Residents can enjoy a children’s play area, football pitches, and a multi-use games area. The Stone Jubilee Pavilion is within the recreation ground, a function room that can be hired for events and celebrations.

The village is serviced by buses that operate between Aylesbury and Oxford, so residents can easily access nearby towns and cities. There is also a train station in Haddenham & Thame Parkway village, which offers direct services to London Marylebone.
